Keep the pipe short
Every extra foot of pipe costs money and a little cooling. Put the outdoor unit as close to the indoor unit as you can, in shade, with 1 ft of free space behind it.

›What are split AC installation charges?
Labour is usually ₹1,500 to ₹2,500. Extra copper pipe, a stand and core cutting are charged separately. A typical first-floor job with 15 ft of pipe and a stand costs about ₹3,200 to ₹5,300.
›How much copper pipe comes free with an AC?
Most brands include about 10 ft (3 m). Extra pipe with insulation costs about ₹220 to ₹320 per foot for 1 to 1.5 ton ACs.
›Is "free installation" really free?
It usually covers only the labour. Pipe beyond the included length, the stand, core cutting and drain pipe are extra.
